Sharon Foerster’s journey is a story of dedication and service. Born and raised in the Smithville Area, she has always been deeply connected to the fabric of the community. A a professional Realtor and a retired employee of Bastrop County, she brings a wealth of experience and understanding of Smithville’s unique opportunities and challenges. Along the way, Sharon has learned the importance of communicating, and more importantly, listening intently.
“My roots in Smithville are deep. As a graduate of Smithville High School and a lifelong resident, I understand our community’s unique needs and values. I am running to protect and nurture our town, managing growth responsibly while preserving our cherished small-town feel. I am committed to supporting local businesses and fostering an environment where investors who share our vision feel welcomed.”
Volunteerism is everything
Volunteerism is the heartbeat of Smithville, and something Sharon is passionate about. A member of various organizations in Smithville, Sharon actively participates in and volunteers for causes and events that benefit the whole community.

Sharon enjoys volunteering with the Smithville Noon Lion’s club, Angel’s Unaware, String Prairie Community Center- currently the Treasurer, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo-Bastrop County Go-Texan Committee, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in String Prairie, and the Railroad Park Board.
As Mayor of Smithville
Sharon believes Smithville is a community with a soul, where every voice matters, and every decision impacts our collective future. Over the last 2 years as Mayor, Sharon has been a large part of improving sidewalks, drainage, roads and parks. The city has purchased much needed equipment to enable the Police Department and Public Works Department to operate safely and efficiently. As Mayor, Sharon has and will continue to work with the City Council and City Manager to ensure our town thrives.
